The project has involved both teachers and students of the first two-year period of the institute for Geometries of Ferno (Italy), together with several other local primary and secondary schools of the surrounding area. The topic we have dealt with was Christopher Columbus on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of his death. Many teachers of History, Literature, Law and Civics, Foreign Languages, Physics, Chemistry, Natural Science, Mathematics and Technical Design have worked together in order to mount an exhibition and to stage, a play all about the extraordinary life of the famous seafarer from Genoa.
The historical and legal disciplines outlined the context of the geographical discoveries and the social and economical consequences of Columbus' venture. The disciplines of linguistic and expressive areas treated the argument from a literal point of view, by reading passages and putting the performances on stage.
